Autonomi

Assalamualaikum

Sihat semua?

Tingkah laku Type I muncul dalam diri seseorang jika dia diberi autonomi atas 4 perkara:

  • Can make a confidence and attractive entrance
  • Prefer to move around the stage

and avoids:

  • Stepping back while making a decision
  • Crossing arms across the chest
  • Pointing finger at audience
  • Punching motions
  • Standing while holding their hip
  • Pacing back and forth

Friendship

Assalamualaikum & hey... =)

Recently read a chapter from Secrets of Successful Teens by Adam Khoo and Gary Lee.

Chapter 8: Friends Make You or They Break You

This is what I have learnt from this chapter:

  • Make a list of friends you have and tick those friends who bring the best out of you.
  • It if not easy to change our friends circle. Sometimes you might be rejected by others. But don't just give up. Build up your self-confidence and keep trying
  • Beware of the negative friends who might pull you back.
  • If you are afraid to make friends with anyone, 99% of the time they are afraid too. So why don't you be the first one to break the ice.
  • If someone rejects you, don't worry because there is nothing wrong with you.
  • The nicest people are the mostly successful and confident.
  • If you don't take the first step, you will never have the opportunity, and you will regret it for the rest of your life.
  • Start a conversation that will make people like you.
  • List down characteristics of your friends who make you feel bad. Make sure you don't be like them.
  • Smile, learn to listen, find similarities, respect others thoughts and give sincere compliments and appreciation.
  • Learn to differentiate the good and bad type of peer pressure.
  • Learn to say 'No' when our friend influences us to do anything wrong.

Secrets of Successful Teens

Assalamualaikum and hello!

Today I am going to share about what I have learnt from this book...
I will be 20 this September. So I think it is still not late to read this book (written for teens) and apply it... =P

Secrets of Successful Teens by Adam Khoo and Gary Lee

Chapter 1: Unleashing the Winner Within

  • Bayangkan diri anda yang berjaya
  • Attend motivational programs and camps. Aktiviti sebegini dapat memotivasikan diri anda
  • Read motivational books to give ideas on how to be motivated and the ways to overcome the obstacles
  • Set your goals. Susah atau senang, even if it seem to be impossible to achieve, set your goals.
  • Describe obstacles as "challenges" instead of "problems"
  • Anggap setiap kegagalan sebagai pengalaman untuk dipelajari

Here's the tips on Goal Setting (yang diajar oleh abg Amirul)

Find Your Strengths!

Assalamualaikum and hey everyone...

"A better definition of a strength is an activity that makes you feel strong. And a weakness is an activity that makes you feel weak. Even if you're good at it, if it drains you, that's a weakness"
- Marcus Buckingham

4 tanda kekuatan yang dikatakan oleh Buckingham ialah:

Success - Kejayaan
Kejayaan menunjukkan keberkesanan aktiviti yang anda lakukan

Instincts - Naluri
Ambil kesempatan atas perkara-perkara yang naluri anda harapkan

Growth - Perkembangan

You know what guys?

Don't worry!! In Syaa Allah... everything will be alright!
Dah berusaha, sekarang masanya untuk bertawakal...

When you are worried, you can't study for the next exam. You will keep on thinking about the previous exam and you will find it hard to concentrate for your next exam.

So here's some tips to bust your worries and fears by Brian Tracy

By doing this, you will know what is really bothering you.

Langkah 3: Now accept the worst possible situation that can happen. When you can accept the worst situation, you will feel better and this can help you to think rasionally.

So all the best for the remaining papers guys!
Don't Worry!!! Be Happyyyyy!!!

Principles of Performance

Assalamualaikum and hi friends...

I bet some of us will be in exam fever. 7 more days and final starts! So here's something that can motivate us to face the final examination.

I have seen some of my friends, they are unhappy with their academic performance. Most of them could not understand what the course is about, others just gave up because they are forced to be where they are now.

Are you one of them? Then read the quote below...

"It's never too late to Start Over, its never too late to be Happy"

Here's the principles of performance I read in ziglar.com.

You will be what you expect to be
If you wish to be happy, you will be happy. If you decide to be sad then you will be. So if you decide to regret about what had happen in your life, you will keep on regretting it and will never move on. But if you wish to pick yourselves up and face the reality despite your regrets, then you WILL make a major good changes in your life.

"Be the change you wish to see the world" - Gandhi

When you look for something, you will get it
This is when you set your goal. Goal is something you really REALLY want to get. Write down your goal on a piece of paper and stick it on the wall. The first thing you do in the morning and the last thing you do before you go to your bed is to look at the paper and imagine about it.

Practice makes Perfect
Once you have corrected your thoughts and set your goal, you have to start moving to achieve it. If you are weak in maths and wish to get an A for it, then the only way to reach your target is by training and practising.

"The only thing worse than training employees and losing them is to not train them and keep them!" - Ziglar

Plan your move before you promise
One of the key to success is to plan your move. Have a planner with you all the time. And if you are about to make a promise that you will achieve certain task or goal, make sure you plan on how you are going to reach it, otherwise, you will end up breaking the promise.

Be grateful
Last but not least, no matter how tough your situation is, remember to be thankful to God. Challenges you face in your life is meant to make you stronger.

Carbon turns into a Diamond when there is Pressure

You are now a carbon. To turn you into a precious Diamond, you need to face some pressures in your life...

Here's a motivational video to boost your confidence...Enjoy the show

Dilemma

Assalamualaikum and hey!

Last Sunday I got to know that I was selected as a Pemudahcara Mahasiswa (PM) for Minggu Haluan Siswa (MHS) 2014/2015, University of Malaya.

Actually, I thought the interviewer will reject me as I did not attend the PM camp.

When I received the call, I was happy to know that I am selected but it did not last long because the second camp will be held during study week!!!

I wanted to be a PM so much but at the same time I could not spend my study week for anything other than revision.

DILEMMA...
What should I do???????????

If they reject me, then I would proceed with my own plans happily... But I was given a second chance and I had to decline it because studies is more important for me... For the next 2 days, I was thinking if my decision is correct.

So I persuade myself that maybe I am not meant to be PM this year. There must be a reason for it. Maybe better plans are waiting to be done during holiday... ;-)

Real Sahabat Seru - Wrap Up Session

Assalamualaikum and hi guys!

Today I attended the last session of Peer Coaching Sessions; Wrap Up. It was so fun!! Everyone is given a chance to share about their transformations and hopes.

I only talked about a few there, so I'll share a little more of my transformations here:

Previously, I never know the best way to communicate with people. I prefer not to share my thoughts to avoid any miscommunication. After I learnt about people's personalities, I got to know about the personalities' background and the best way to talk to them.

I never knew how to manage my money. I always wanted to save some, but usually I will end up using every single cent. When I was introduced about 6 Jars, I thought it's impossible! But now I have my 6 Jars filled... ;-)

Well, it's not jars, hehex... =P

I used to be very active at school but I lost my confidence when I got to a higher level education. Started to sit at the back of my class, pay less attention, grades fall... So I shared about this to my coach, and they said I should start participating in class. Sit at the front and ignore what people talk about you. Ask questions even if its silly. So one day, I prepared myself mentally and physically and tried it. AAAAAAND... I MADE IT! I focused more in class and it felt so good!

I love to read books. I often go shopping to buy english novels. One day abg Amirul said "Stop reading novels! It doesn't help you!". And I was like "WHAAATT??? No novels????". He suggested to read motivational books. Now, I fall in love with motivational books, I bring it where ever I go. I even read it while waiting at the bus stop.

One of my goals is to recite Quran with its meaning. I set my goal into 3 smaller goals: 1st, get a Quran with meaning. 2nd, start reciting it once or twice a week. I reserve my time between Maghrib and Isyak to recite Quran. 3rd, upgrade to next level, recite 4 or 5 times a week. 4th, upgrade more! Recite everyday! Alhamdulillah, I have achieved the 4th level and my next target is to maintain this and never stop.

I felt so happy after my talk and I don't know why. All I know is that I am a better person now compared to the time I enrolled in University of Malaya. Thank you abg Amirul, kak Elin, my coaches; kak Yatie and kak Faie, group mates; Eira and Farha. And at the end of the session, I got this cert =D

Scored Better Because of Planner

Assalamualaikum n hi!

Surely everyone have heard that planner is important, it helps you to plan a better life, everyone should have one, bla bla bla... but so far I have never heard from anyone about how planner actually changed their life (well, no one told me about it) =P

So, today I am going to share about how planner changed my life...

During the earlier sessions with abg Amirul n kak Elin, they told me the same thing, "Go get a planner and start planning your day!" and they also said this, "To know the best way to plan, you can come to our workshop or read 'Eat That Frog' book".

And I got it!! =D

Once I could differentiate between a huge ugly frog and a cute little tadpole, I started to implement it to plan my day.

So the other day I planned to study a chapter in Data Structure, which is Stack (the ugliest frog of the day)

It was hard in the beginning but by the end of the day I realise that I showed some improvement.

The next day, I had viva for chapter Stack.

AND GUESS WHAT??

For the first time in this semester, I got FULL MARKS for viva!!!

It's only 2 marks, but I felt like I got 4-flat! I almost cry after I finished the viva...

So, how I suddenly got good marks for viva?

It was all because I forced myself to eat that UGLIEST FROG...

Eat That Frog Bab 2 - Buat Perancangan Awal

Senarai Bulanan
Senarai matlamat untuk jangka masa sebulan.

Sebelum melakukan sesuatu tugas, bahagikan 10 peratus masa untuk merancang, 90 peratus selebihnya untuk bertindak mengikut perancangan.

Perancangan bermaksud membawa masa hadapan kepada masa kini supaya kita dapat membuat sesuatu berkaitannya sekarang.

Eat That Frog Bab 1 - Kemaskan Meja

Tentukan apakah 'goal' sebenar anda.

- Napoleon Hill

Eat That Frog - Pengenalan (Ringkasan)

Eat That Frog merupakan penulisan Brian Tracy.

Awesome Quotes...

Copy pasted this from Real Leaders Solution's post...

Someone has written these beautiful LINES. Read and try to understand the deeper meaning of them.
1. Prayer is not a "spare wheel" that you pull out when in trouble, but it is a "steering wheel" that directs the right path throughout life.
2. Why is a car's windshield so large & the rear view mirror so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. So, look ahead and move on.
3. Friendship is like a BOOK. It takes a few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write.
4. All things in life are temporary. If they are going well, enjoy them, they will not last forever. If they are going wrong, don't worry, they can't last long either.
5. Old friends are gold! New friends are diamond! If you get a diamond, don't forget the gold! To hold a diamond, you always need a base of gold!
6. Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, God smiles from above and says, "Relax, sweetheart; it's just a bend, not the end!"
7. When God solves your problems, you have faith in HIS abilities; when God doesn't solve your problems, He has faith in YOUR abilities.
8. A blind person asked God: "Can there be anything worse than losing eye sight?" He replied: "Yes, losing your vision!!!"
9. When you pray for others, God listens to you and blesses them, and sometimes, when you are safe and happy, remember that someone has prayed for you.
10. Worrying does not take away tomorrow's troubles; it takes away today's PEACE.
If you enjoyed this, please copy it and pass it to others. It may brighten someone else's day, too.
MAY ALLAH SWT BLESS YOU !

The Wheel of Life

Assalamualaikum and Hi folks!

In this task you will draw a Wheel of Life for yourself. The result of your wheel represents how perfect is your life.

This is a sample of Wheel of Life:

Draw a wheel with sections like the example above. You can add or remove any sections from this wheel to make sure that the categories are meaningful and represents a balanced life for you.

Make two copies of it, first one is for you and the other one, is for your friends (any one close to you) to rate you.

Once finished, analyse your wheel of life and think of the ways to improve your life, and START WORKING ON IT!

The objective of this task is to improve our life so that the wheel of our life will be a perfect circle.

In my Wheel of Life, I got the worst for physical environment. So my coaches, Kak Yatie and Kak Faie advised me on how to keep my surrounding neat and clean. I have started to work on it and YES! I am improving. In syaa Allah, I will keep improving till my Wheel of life becomes a perfect circle!

And all the best for you too!  ;-)

360 degree Feedback

Assalamualaikum n hello friends,

360 degree Feedback is the most interesting session in Real Leadership Workshop Training. You will know many surprising facts about yourself. So for this session you have to go ask your friends, family and enemy (if you are daring enough) to list out your strengths and weaknesses.

Using the list of strength and weakness of yours, you are going to think of your opportunities and threats... In short, you are actually doing a SWOT analysis of yourself...so once you are done, you will know how to overcome your weaknesses and maintain your strength.

COOL RIGHT!!

In my SWOT analysis, I got to know that I am very different at home and in campus. My parents said that I am very lazy at home (Yes, I agree with them). So I have to train myself to be more active at home just like in campus.

My seniors in campus told me that I work way too hard, till I don't even realise that people are using me to accomplish their tasks! (How did I NOT realise this???) Well, thank you seniors for revealing the truth about me... ;-)

Outing with Coach and Group Mate

1st of May 2014... Had an awesome outing with my coaches, Kak Faie & Kak Yatie, and also with my group mates, Kak Eira & Kak Farah. Start moving from our residential college at 9 in the morning, stuck in traffic jams, got lost and finally reached the book fair at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC).

Yippppppiiiiiii!!!!!!!

Could not wait to smell the scent of new books! My aim is to buy some motivational books suggested by abg Amirul and kak Elin...aaaaaand....

Tadaaaaaaaa.............!

I bought it!!! =D

Eat That Frog by Brian Tracy
Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert T.Kiyosaki

Can't wait to read it and share the knowledge with you all!

and thank you for bringing us to the book fair kak! Hope we will go for more exciting outings! =D

Goal Setting

Assalamualaikum friends...

Goal Setting is the first topic in Real Leadership Workshop Training. Here I will share a little on how to set our goal (which I learnt from the workshop) and Locke's Goal Setting Theory from a website.

There are few steps and aspects which can direct us to achieve our goal:

1) Focus on the outcome that you are expecting

Decide the aspect of life you really want to improve and set the specific outcome that you are looking for.

I choose to improve my Academic Performance, so my specific outcome is to graduate with a CGPA of 3.7 and above. I also want to work on my Religious Development, and my specific outcome for this aspect of life is to read Quran everyday, at least 2 pages with its meaning.

2) Aligning with your Values and Principles

Answer this question: Are the goals something you truly want to achieve? If no, then it might not be a good goal.

YES!! I truly want to achieve it! =D So, I can proceed with the next step...

3) Identify the Obstacles and the Challenges

In this part you have to decide if you could start and maintain your goal, and who are your role models.

So far I got a CGPA of 3.69, so in syaa Allah, I will try my best to get more than 3.7 this semester and maintain it. For the second aspect, I have started and alhamdulillah, maintaining it...
And my role models are my own uncle and my elder brother... :-)

4) Goal Sizing

If your goal is too big, break it into a smaller goals, else if it is too small, then make it bigger.

For the academic performance, yes I have divided it into smaller tasks. Goal sizing of religious development is just fine.

5) Resources

List down the resources you already have and you need to get to achieve your goal.

I already have...
my books and notes, PTPTN loan, friends and lecturers, Quran with meaning, and plenty of time

I need...
well, I hope my brother could add "teach my sissy" in his planner...

When setting your goal... make sure write it in a positive sentence and follow SMART...

What is SMART?

Specific
Know what you want to achieve

Measureable
You will know that you HAVE to achieve it

Action-Oriented
You could set your steps to achieve it

Realistic
   So you could achieve it

Time-Bound
   Has deadline

Locke's Goal Setting Theory

This theory uses SMART as its basic and introduces 5 principles which helps us to set a better and realistic goals.

The 5 principles are:

Clarity
Set specific goals which is measurable and with time limit

Challenge
Set difficult goals but make sure it is achievable

Commitment
Work consistently to achieve your goal

Feedback
Check your progress regularly to make sure you are right on track

Task Complexity
Make sure the goals are neither too big nor too small

Language

Assalamualaikum friends...

Today I am going to talk about....

Language - Bahasa

Most of our reaction towards this topic might be:

"Just Language??" o.O       "Ceh! bahasa jer pun...."

Remember, language can be as sweet as Honey or as sharp as Knife...It depends on how we use it...

Choice of words we use indirectly affects our life.

Here's an example to help you think...:

You are attending a job interview... Of course you would have prepared yourself by gaining knowledge on the best way to communicate so that you will be selected in that interview... So what will happen if you use improper language (i.e. vulger, violent, racist, sexist, etc) with your colleagues and your boss after posting that job... Do you think you will last any longer in that job that you prepared so much for its interview? What will be the level of respect on you by others, is it still as good as how it was during the interview...? Will your colleagues treat you the same way then? Will you get promoted to a better posting?

Renung-renungkanlah...........................

That is just an example of a situation... Remember to communicate appropriately with everyone, because our language plays a major role in our life... ;-)

Motivational Book: How To do Everything and be Happy by Peter Jones

Assalamualaikum and Hi friends!

In this post, I am going to share summary of a content from a motivational book.

Book Title: How to do Everything and be Happy
Author: Peter Jones

Topic: Boxing Day

What is Boxing Day? Traditionally, Boxing Day is celebrated by Christians, its a public holiday celebrated on the first day after Christmas Day.

The concept of (the real) Boxing Day is used to plan our own boxing day. The main idea of boxing day is to spend the whole day doing things that you LIKE!

There are 3 simple rules in setting a boxing day:

1) Plan when is the boxing day. So open up your planner now and start planning when you want your boxing day to be! Remember, boxing day must be there in every month of your planner.

2) DO NOT pre-plan your boxing day. Planning to watch movie and book a ticket earlier? NO! That is not allowed too! Plan your boxing day on that day itself.

3) Emergency? Postpone it. '22nd Sept is my boxing day and I had to meet my client.' If this situation ever happen to you, make sure you don't cancel your boxing day. Reschedule the boxing day to another day.

So that's the main idea of Boxing Day discussed in How to do Everything and be Happy. Want to know more? Then go get this book ASAP! I will be back to share about more books next time...
